In these times of austerity, Information Technology is often seen as one of the key facilitators of improved efficiency and cost savings. One of they key ways these cost savings can be delivered is through the use of shared services, however, shared services can not work without sharing information and bodies will not and should not share information unless they are satisfied that it will be looked after in a suitable manner.
